Asante Kotoko claim defender Kwabena Edusei has gone AWOL in the heat of negotiations for him to extend his contract with the club.

The strong center back is in advanced talks with the Premier League champions with his contract nearing expiration.

A principled agreement was said to have been reached between the club and the player during the negotiations.

Edusei according to Kotoko has however left the country to South Africa just at the time the club was ready to meet his financial demands.

“His contract is expiring and we sat with him to do all negotiations and an agreement was reached,” Kotoko’s spokesman Ali Maradona told Peace FM.

“The only thing left was for us to hand him his due and then he signs but then the next thing we heard was that he has left for South Africa.

“We don’t know what he is doing there so we wait to see how things develop.

“He is perhaps on a personal trip to do something else and not necessarily to sign for a club there.”

it's not all rosey in the PSL he'll struggle here...or sundowns will sign him and loan him back to Kotoko...we are gifted in the goalkeeping and defence department only strikers we need here.but good luck to him if he is really coming to S.A.

I don't understand this Kotoko management team at all. This is not the first time this happening to the team. If you think a player is good and you want to keep him, why wait till the last minute to give him a contract extension. Well, they're to be blamed for whatever happens.
