The Management of Kotoko has noted with regret, media reports that Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, the Asantehene, prevailed upon the Board of Directors and Management not to slap a court injunction on the league in the Obed Owusu-Hearts case.

Management wishes to state unequivocally that, the Great King had nothing to do with that decision. Nana does not and will not be involved in issues which border on day-today administration of the club.

Management is by this statement appealing to the media that while we cannot determine what is newsworthy for them, we will appreciate if Otumfuo’s name is not dragged into the issue – let alone be accompanied with twisted facts. Nana should be accorded the needed reverence.

The club will not hesitate to take action against any media house or personality who denigrates the name of the Asantehene. The Board of Directors and Management wish reiterate that they will not rest until the six points are restored.

We assure our fans that patience is a solid rock upon which Kotoko have pinned its hope.

When the Ghana Football Association (GFA)’s Appeals Committee releases its verdict, we are confident we will move to our deserved second spot on the 2014/15 First Capital Plus Premier League table.
