Asante Kotoko striker Seidu Bancey has been suspended for the rest of the season for violently attacking match officials after defeat at New Edubiase United last month.

Video evidence showed Bancey chasing the referee and physically and verbally attacking him after their 2-1 defeat.

The Disciplinary Committee ruled the behaviour of the player brings the game into disrepute and cast a bad image for the game.

His ban took effect from 19 August as a result of his misconduct.

The GFA Disciplinary has warned the player to be of good behaviour and that should he be found guilty of any misconduct charge, the Committee shall apply severe sanctions against him.
