Asante Kotoko supporters are unable to mobilize enough numbers to travel for their CAF Champions League return encounter against Barrack Young Controllers.
The fans had planned to go for the game to be played in the Liberian capital of Monrovia by road through Ivory Coast.
Organizers of the road trip have however been unable to raise enough numbers to fill even half of a 45-seater bus.
“All arrangements are in place, the buses and everything is ready but the numbers are not encouraging,†Ashanti Regional Circles chairman Obeng Sekyere told Metro FM’s Kotoko Radio.
“The encouraging initial calls have not translated into registration and as at now we have not filled even half of a bus.
“From the way things are going, it is likely we will not be making the trip.â€
The low patronage for the road trip is a major setback for the club who boast of a support base of over six million people.
The Kotoko team left Accra on Friday afternoon for the Liberian capital, Monrovia where they will be facing BYC in the second leg of the opening preliminary qualification round of the competition.
The Porcupine Warriors take a slim 2-1 advantage into the return encounter on Sunday.
