Asante Kotoko supporters have resolved to give the side a massive backing in their SWAG Cup match against AshantiGold after dropping their concerns over the game.
Some supporters had raised concerns over playing such an expected competitive game against their regional rivals just weeks into the team’s start of pre-season.
They even pushed to the club’s withdrawal from the game which is slated to come off on Sunday in Kumasi.
But the supporters have resolved to shelve these concerns after a meeting with the Chief of Staff of Manhyia.
“We have resolved to play in this SWAG Cup match and we urge the team to win this game for us,” the Ashanti Regional Circles chairman Obeng Sekyere told Happy FM.
“We had concerns about playing this game because we had wanted the team to go through the motions of a full pre-season but officials have already decided and we stand with them.
“We will be mobilizing support for the team come Sunday and I am sure we will win.”
Asante Kotoko are eager to get one over their regional rivals who they lost their Premier League title to last season.
