Asante Kotoko have sent a solidarity message to the family and sympathizers of the late Emmanuel Owusu-Ansah who passed away last week.

The Ghana FA Executive Committee Member and also a Member of Parliament for Kwabre West in the Ashanti Region died at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital in Accra on June 22 after a short illness.

He becomes the second Ghana FA Ex.Co member in less than a month to pass away after the sudden death of Ghana Fa Vice President Jordan Anagblah.

Kotoko have thus sent a solidarity message in a statement signed by Executive Chairman Dr. K.K Sarpong extolling the great works of the deceased who served on the board of the Kumasi-based club.

“Kotoko will very much miss him at this time when frantic efforts are being made at reviving the fortunes of the club where his expertise will be much needed,” portions of the statement read.

“Our thoughts and sympathies as a club will forever be with the bereaved family and all other football fans including Kotoko supporters who in diverse ways benefited from his advice on football.”

Owusu-Ansah’s death adds to the power vacuum that is engulfing the FA as key positions need to be filled for the smooth running of the body to go on uninterrupted.
