Reports gathered by GHANASoccernet.com are that Asante Kotoko will test the resolve of bitter rivals Hearts of Oak with a hefty bid for their Ivorian import Robin Gnagne.

The Porcupine Warriors are closing in on a third consecutive league title and could be crown champions as early as next week if Heart of Lions lose to Medeama in a delayed match on Sunday.

Kotoko want to strengthen their defence ahead of playing in next season’s CAF Champions League and have identified the centre-back as the missing piece in their jigsaw.

A Hearts insider has revealed to GHANASoccernet.com that Gnagne is getting frustrated by the internal wrangling in the club and has questioned the ambitions of the club in the near future.

“I am telling you that underground information I have is that even Rubin Gnagne could join Kotoko next season,” he told GHANASoccernet.com

“Me I have heard Opoku Nti is interested in him and if care is not taken we could lose him to Kotoko.

“Hearts problems are making some of the senior players considering their position with the club.”

Gnagne has been Hearts of Oak’s best performer for the season.
