Asante Kotoko have confirmed they will play a weakened side in Wednesday’s MTN FA Cup game against Agbozome Weavers.

The Ghanaian champions have a tough return leg encounter in the CAF Champions League against JSM Bejaia at the weekend.

Kotoko actually wanted the outstanding FA Cup game postponed in order to prepare fully for Sunday’s Champions League game against the visiting Algerian club.

Authorities however denied Kotoko’s request hence their decision to make good use of their squad in order to get the first team regulars well prepared for the Champions League game.

“Kotoko is a big team with close to 50 registered players and so under the circumstances, the technical team had put another team ahead of the game capable of delivering in the FA Cup,” Kotoko’s spokesman Listowell Yesu Bukarson told MTNFootball.com.

The Kotoko team have already arrived in Ho for the MTN FA Cup clash against the second tier club.
