Kotoko to release veteran midfielder Michael Akuffu - report

Published on: 28 October 2016

Kotoko will release midfielder Michael Akuffu ahead of the new season.

According to multiple reports in Ghana, the 30-year-old is deemed surplus to requirement despite returning to the club.

The former WAFA midfielder has been told to look elsewhere as he does not feature in the plans of interim coach Michael Osei.

Akuffu has been training with the side since the start of pre-season to fuel reports of his return to the club.

He had an unsuccesful stint with Lebanese side Al Ansar.

But it appears the pressence of midfielders Kwadwo Poku, Theophilus Nyame, Owusu Jackson and Bennet Ofori makes it difficult to keep him.
