Kotoko to scout and groom players for Sunderland in Africa

English Premier League side Sunderland have proposed to engage Asante Kotoko as their talent hunters and scouts for Africa.

Kotoko are expected to use their experience and involvement in next year's CAF Champions League to identify talents.

The proposal was made after Kotoko Executive Chairman Dr KK Sarpong visited Sunderland officials last week.

"By this arrangement, Kotoko sometimes may be given the players to groom and also work towards their qualification for work permit in England,'' Kotoko's International Relations Consultant Kwame Baah Nuakoh told the club's official newspaper.

Kotoko signed a partnership agreement with Sunderland last year but nothing concrete has been done so far.

But it seems a solid foundation has been laid for plans to be rolled out.
