Asante Kotoko say they might abandon their recruitment plans for next season and turn to the club's youth team as they seek to revamp.
The Kotoko Under-20 stole the headlines after a 1-0 victory over the first team set-up of rivals Hearts of Oak last Sunday in a May 9 anniversary match.
The former African champions have seen their fortunes dwindle this term as the club will miss out on Africa.
"What these young guys have done is amazing and it sends signals to some of the old players to sit up because they have showed maturity today," Kwame Baah-Nuakoh told Ghanasoccernet.com
"Kotoko have had a bad season and we want to bounce back big next season and if these players can do the job, then why spend a lot of money."
Kotoko's final league match will be at home to relegation battlers Great Olympics on Wednesday.
