Ghanaian giants Asante Kotoko will open their Blue Stars 2014 FIFA Youth Championship campaign with a difficult test against Portuguese giants Benfica on Wednesday.

The Porcupets are the only side from Africa invited to participate in this year's competition and must prove their worth with an opening game against Benfica who are renowned for producing bright talents including David Luiz and Angel Di Maria.

While the Kotoko side obviously inexperienced, their opponents have played in several top-class youth competitions including the Uefa Youth Champions League but the West Africans are keen to impress.

"We will play our debut game against Benfica tomorrow and we are hoping the boys use this opportunity to dream their talents," Kotoko chief Opoku Nti told Accra-based Asempa FM.

The Kotoko continent arrived on Tuesday morning but the importance of the tournament forced them to engage in a friendly game which they won 1-0.
