Asante Kotoko defender Yaw Frimpong will leave Ghana on Monday to undergo medicals with TP Mazembe.

The 25-year-old will meet up with fellow Kotoko teammate Daniel Nii Adjei in Kenya before traveling together to the DRC to take the medical.

Both Frimpong and Nii Adjei are expected to sign a contract with the CAF Champions League campaigners after Kotoko agreed to a tabled offer for the duo last month.

The duo’s sale will be the third major departure from Kotoko this term following the sale of Awal Mohammed to South African club Maritzburg United.

The Ghanaian champions have had a stuttering start to their title defence this season - haven failed to win a game after two rounds of matches.
