The supporters’ front of Asante Kotoko is in turmoil after a meeting of the Greater Accra regional council ended in a brawl on Monday.

The fracas ensued between the National Public Relations Officer of the National Circles Council  (NCC) Nana Kwame Dankwa and a disqualified aspirant of the Greater Accra chairmanship position Osei Wusu.

The meeting ended abruptly after both men exchanged blows in front of council members.

Osei Wusu has been banned from contesting the chairmanship position on technical grounds-which has heighted tension between the feuding camp.

“Osei Wusu is nobody and cannot dictate the rules of the game to anybody. He was very much involved in the drafting of the constitution and so if he has been disqualified, what is his problem,” Nana Kwame Dankwa said

“He hides behind people and instigate all these unnecessary problem. Some of us will even ensure the whole association is dissolved.

“Nobody is above the law and so we’ll fight to the end. We should be thinking about important issues and not such trivial ones,”

Disunity has hit the hierarchy of the club’s umbrella body which has incurred the wrath of the Executive Board Chairman Dr K.K Sarpong.

The club’s chief has stated he will seek the mandate of the Board to dissolve the supporters’ wing due to their ineffectiveness and the latest incident could give credence to his quest to crush the NCC for restructuring purposes.

Dr Sarpong who guided the side to clinch their first Premier League title in four years, also feels let down by the club supporters wing contribution to the payment recently incurred debts.

Out of the 487000 Ghana cedis worth of coupons allocated to the Circles in the massive fund raising project, the club has seen just a little under 20,000 Ghana cedis returns.
