Asante Kotoko defender Prince Boateng, who was arrested last week for defiling a 12-year-old girl in Kumasi, has been released on police enquiry bail.

A source from the Police Domestic Victims and Violent Support Unit (DOVVSU) told Graphic Sports that the player was released following initial investigations into the case.

The source said the DOVVSU charged the player with defilement after and have now built a substantial docket of the case forwarded it to the Attorney General's department for advice.

According to the Graphic Sports, Boateng had been ordered to report to the police every three days as part of police investigations, stressing that nothing would be left to chance so far as the case was concerned.
