Kroenke Jr wants Henry to succeed Wenger at Arsenal

The son of Stan Kroenke sees Thierry Henry as the ideal successor for Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger.

The Sun says Henry is the preferred choice of Josh Kroenke – the son and heir to Gunners owner Stan – to replace Wenger as manager.

The under-fire Frenchman is widely expected to leave at the end of the current campaign – and Arsenal non-executive director Josh, 36, is a big fan of the legendary striker, as is his father.

All-time leading scorer Henry is close to Josh, whose influence since being involved in the club from 2013 has increased.

He has been working as a pundit for Sky Sports, but is about to pass his Uefa Pro License coaching badge in time for the start of next season.

In the meantime, 39-year-old Henry has been working as an assistant to Belgium national team manager Roberto Martinez – but has made it clear his dream role is to manage Arsenal one day.
