Referee Eric Owusu Mensah claims injury was the reason why he failed the recent fitness test.
The Kumasi-based referee popularly known as ‘Kala’ pulled out from the fitness exercise held at the El-Wak Stadium on Sunday.
Owusu Mensah joined two other notable names; Charles Nii Tagoe and Theresah Bremansu in failing the recent fitness test which will see them withdrawn from officiating in the Ghanaian top flight.
But ‘Kala’ claims he was unable to complete the exercise due to injury.
“I got myself injured while doing the test so I had to pull out,†he told Metro FM.
“It is not because I failed the test, I was injured.
“I will go and cure myself and return strongly next time.â€
