Kumordzi optimistic about Genk Europa chances

Ghana midfielder Bennard Kumordzi believes his Genk side stand a better chance of advancing to the quarter-finals of the Europa League after forcing an away draw at German side VfB Stuttgart.

The 27-year-old lasted 74 minutes for the Belgian Pro League side as substitute Plet Glynor scored a stoppage-time equaliser for Mario Been's men.

Kumordzi who enjoyed a memorable evening in central midfield at the Mercedes-Benz-Arena, is quite optimistic about his side's chances.

"An away point and goal is very crucial for us and we now stand a big chance of going through to the quarter-finals," he told Ghanasoccernet.com.

"It will be yet another milestone for me to play at such stage of the competition."

Genk will host Stuttgart in the return leg at the Cristal Arena next week.
