Ghana midfielder Kwadwo Asamoah says Juventus had to lift up their performance in the second-half to beat French side Olympique Lyon in the Uefa Europa League Cup.
Theà Bianconeris had to be patient before securing a 1-0 first-leg victory at Olympique Lyonnais, defender Leonardo Bonucci ultimately ending the home side's resistance in a tense UEFA Europa League quarter-final joust.
Juventus made a series of incursions in both halves but were unable to take the lead with the Black Stars midfielder having his attempted effort at goal deflecting a Lyonnais defender to go wide.
But four before full-time, the Italians took a vital lead with Bonucci lashing a shot high into the net after OL had failed to clear a corner.
And, Asamoah who lasted the entire duration of the game has hailed his side's performance in the second half.
"In the second-half we did well but during the first-half we were slow in the game and didn't move a lot," he told Sky Sports.
Asamoah will be playing before home fans should Juventus get to the final of the competition as it will be hosted at the Juventus Arena.
