Kwadwo Asamoah has been a success since joining Juventus

Midfielder Kwadwo Asamoah says he feels honoured to be only the second Ghanaian to play for Italian giants Juventus.

The 26-year-old realized his childhood dream in 2012 when he joined the Old Lady from Udinese.

Asamoah becomes only the second Ghanaian to have played for the Italian champions – following in the footsteps of former Ghana captain Stephen Appiah.

The Ghana international remains a highly popular figure amongst the Juventus fans despite not playing much last season due to a knee injury.

Asamoah admits he continues to enjoy the massive support of the fans despite being only the second Ghanaian to play for the club.

“I did not expect it [support of the fans], it's amazing,” he said.

“When in training feel the fans who call me, 'Asa, Asa, Asa' is an important thing for me, the fans are kind to me.

“I did not expect. The Ghanaian only Appiah played for Juventus. Now I am the second player from Ghana who plays in Juve.

“And 'the best thing in my life, because Juventus are a very big team, a team that won the Scudetto last year. I saw a lot of matches and I'm very happy to be here.”
