Ghana international midfielder Kwadwo Asamoah will undergo the further specialist checks on Sunday morning to assess the extent of damage on the knee strain he suffered while in action for Juventus in the Serie A on Saturday.

The 27-year-old could be set for a lengthy layoff after he suffered a knee strain after coming off the bench to replace Miralem Pjanic in the 68th minute.

Juventus have officially issued a statement to confirm Asamoah will undergo surgery on Sunday morning to help the midfielder recover quickly from the injury.

"Kwadwo Asamoah and Daniele Rugani underwent medical tests following tonight’s match away in Palermo, which revealed sprains to their right knees. Both players will undergo more specialist checks tomorrow at J-Medical," a club statement read.

Juventus won the tie 1-0 against Palermo and sit at the top of the table with 15 points from 6 games, losing just a game.

Asamoah has featured in 4 of the six games for the Old Ladies.
