Juventus coach Massimiliano Allegri has hinted Ghana international Kwadwo Asamoah will struggle to retain his starting role in the team despite playing full throttle in the 1-0 win against Chievo Verona.

The 25-year-old was a key member of former coach Antonio Conte’s 3-5-2 formation which yielded three successive Serie A titles.

The appointment of Allegri and the arrival of France international Patrice Evra from Manchester United have cast doubt on the future of the Ghanaian.

Asamoah managed to retain his spot in the team for the season opener but Allegri has hinted he intends to play at the back that will favour Evra.

“I have a great team with outstanding professionals. The previous manger did a great job but we are looking to try out something new may be a four at the back,” Allegri said.

“We will see what happens but the important thing is to show the hunger they showed in the previous game.

"It doesn't matter if we play with Asamoah or Patrice the important thing is the balance."
