Kwadwo Asamoah modest on impressive Juventus display

Posted On Sunday, 26th August 2012

Kwadwo Asamoah has been modest with his impressive display for Juventus

Ghana midfielder Kwadwo Asamoah has played down his man-of-the-match performance for Juventus in their opening day 2-0 win over Parma at home.

Asamoah, playing on the left side of midfield, delivered a great ball for Lichtsteiner to open the scoring.

He put up a gutsy presence in midfield and exhibited occasional flash of flair.

The new signing was playing his first match at the Juventus Stadium after missing out of Udinese’s visit to Turin last season.

Asamoah is already an idol for the Bianconeri faithful after scoring a superb goal for the side in the Super Cup win over Napoli.

The Ghana international is refusing to take all the credit for his eye-catching display.

“I’m not the only one out there, we play as a team,” Asamoah said in a post-match interview.

”We all help each other on the field and that makes everything so much easier. I’m pleased with this win.

”The first match is always important and we’ve got off to a good start with these three points.

”Our passing wasn’t so slick in the first half but we played really well after the interval.

”Conte has spent a lot of time explaining things to me since I arrived. He’s encouraged me to try and go past my man more in training and he wants me to do the same in matches.”

Am happy conte is doing a good job by telling him to try and goes pass players.. that excellent cuz i always feel asa can become a real superstar if he try to take on two or three players at a time… he always has the feet for it and he is such a great dribbler too but yet again one thing i have seen by him is that though he try to take on players,he falls easily and that always breaks his attacks.. he needs to work more on his balance when taking on players and also needs to be a bit aggressive too cuz he sometimes too laid back!! I know u have such a fabulous attacking instincts so don’t let the strategies in juventus kill that!!! Ghana needs a better playermaker with killer attacking instincts and i found that in you boy!!!! Works also on your shootings n try to use your right leg and i can confidently say that u ll achieved super stardom and becomes one of the complete players ever

  2. KWAB says:

HES NOT AN ATTACKING MIDFIELDER, PERIOD. HE’S BEEN USED IN THAT POSITION FOR BLACKSTARS SEVERAL TIMES AND HAS NOT DONE WELL AT ALL. PLAY HIM AS A DEEP LYING PLAYMAKER LIKE HE DID IN UDINESE OR ON THE LEFT SIDE OF MIDFIELD. SIMPLE. KWESI APPIAH OPEN YOUR EYES!!!

  3. nana says:

kwab has said what i have been saying for years, this is the reason why asamoah goes missing in GHANA GAMES MOST OF THE TIME, he is a deep lying play maker with energy to be a soort of box to box player so by Ghana playing him behind gyan he is being wasted. Kwasi Appiah wake up

  4. selfmade says:

He is not all that attacking as we expect him to be but that does not mean that he can attack!! He is quite different from these box to box players in the black stars ie annan, badu etc.. he quite also diffevent in the sense that he is only typical bs midfielder who can be employed as playermaker, distributing balls, holding up player whiles attacking too whenever possible!! So are u trying to say that employing him as a playermaker means that he can’t attack? Besides most playermakers are attacking midfielders and who can tell me asa doesn’t have this attribute too…. he could be a deep lying playermaker with contributing to attack period!! The box to box duties of course we know ll be carried out by the defensive midfielders ie annan or badu… as i stated early his only problem in the black stars has being that he lacks confidence when taking on players maybe sometimes due to the aggressive nature of the African play.. he easily went missing when a player is aggressive on him… moreover he has erratic shooting infront of goal because he most at times bend down his head when taking on players and doesn’t raised his head when about to shoot. Invariably, has eyes is always fixed on the ball and that has contribute to his wayward shootings in the black stars!!! But nevertheless, we are yet to see the best from him….
