Kwadwo Asamoah modest on impressive Juventus display

Ghana midfielder Kwadwo Asamoah has played down his man-of-the-match performance for Juventus in their opening day 2-0 win over Parma at home.

Asamoah, playing on the left side of midfield, delivered a great ball for Lichtsteiner to open the scoring.

He put up a gutsy presence in midfield and exhibited occasional flash of flair.

The new signing was playing his first match at the Juventus Stadium after missing out of Udinese's visit to Turin last season.

Asamoah is already an idol for the Bianconeri faithful after scoring a superb goal for the side in the Super Cup win over Napoli.

The Ghana international is refusing to take all the credit for his eye-catching display.

"I'm not the only one out there, we play as a team," Asamoah said in a post-match interview.

''We all help each other on the field and that makes everything so much easier. I'm pleased with this win.

''The first match is always important and we've got off to a good start with these three points.

''Our passing wasn't so slick in the first half but we played really well after the interval.

''Conte has spent a lot of time explaining things to me since I arrived. He's encouraged me to try and go past my man more in training and he wants me to do the same in matches."
