Communications Manager of Kumasi Asanate Kotoko Kwaku Ahenkorah has described reports that General Manager Opoku Nti has been sacked as a sign of total disrespect to the club's Life Patron Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II.

The local sports media had earlier reported that the former striker of the club, Opoku Nti has been sacked by the Life Patron of the club Otumfour Osei Tutu II as the General Manager replacing him with Dr. Kawku Frimpong but the Communications Manager of the club thinks it is disrespectful to the Asante King.

Speaking to GHANAsoccernet.com Kwaku Ahenkorah said ‘We all know that Manyhia appointed the Board and they also appointed Opoku Nti. Why do people want to go ahead of Mnahyia to be publishing reports that Manhyia and for that matter Otumfour had sacked Opoku Nti? It is utter disrespect to the Asantehene.”

The fuming Kotoko Communications Manager warned that reporters stay away from publishing such stories as they will find it difficult to substantiate when they are invited by Manhyia.

“Maybe many people do not understand what goes on in the appointment of officers by Manhyia and how they are sacked. Who spoke to Otumfour for that news? Please, people must be very careful as this shows total disrespect to our king,” Ahenkorah added.

The Communications manager of the club also admitted that Opoku Nti will surely not last at the club forever but the fact that he has been sacked is untrue.

“It is true that Opoku Nti will not last as the General Manager of Kotoko forever but please the way things are reported are inaccurate and totally false which casts a slur on the image of Otumfour. People must show respect,” he concluded.
