Kwarasey dropped from Black Stars squad to face Uganda, Togo in AFCON qualifiers
Adam Kwarasey said Black Stars goalkeepers' coach must be changed

Norway-based goalkeeper Adam Larsen Kwarasey  has been axed from the Black Stars squad to face Uganda and Togo in next month's Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers, sources close to the player have told GHANAsoccernet.com.

The Stromsgodset captain has not received a call from Black Stars coach Kwesi Appiah informing him of his call-up and with the squad expected to be named on Wednesday it looks like he has been axed.

This means the shot-stopper will not be part of the squad to be unveiled by coach Kwesi Appiah following a Black Stars management committee meeting on Wednesday.

Kwarasey looks to have paid the price for questioning the competence of Black Stars goalkeepers' trainer Nassam Yakubu following the World Cup in Brazil.

The shot-stopper lashed out at Yakubu in an interview with Norwegian newspaper Verdens Gang hinting that he would not be part of the Black Stars set-up if the goalkeepers' trainer is not changed.

With Yakubu, who is regarded by many as the finest goalkeepers' trainer in the country, most unlikely to leave the post, Kwarasey will not play in the side unless something dramatic happens.

"It’s no point travelling to Ghana if it’s other things than how you perform that decides if you play or not," Kwarasey told the Norwegian newspaper after the World Cup in Brazil.

Fatau Dauda was the preferred choice for Yakubu during the World Cup which seemed not to have gone down well with the Stromsgodset captain.

Kwarasey played in the match against the USA before Dauda took over the post in the subsequent matches against Germany and Portugal.

The absence of Kwarasey means other youngsters will be given the chance to impress the Black Stars coach.
