KWASI APPIAH: Black Stars did not train for two days ahead of USA game due to poor travelling arrangement

Ghana coach Kwasi Appiah has lamented on the poor travelling arrangement made for the Black Stars ahead of their game against the USA, insisting it thwarted the training schedule of the team.

The tactician reveals that the team failed to train for two days ahead of the clash with The Yanks because they did not arrive in the in Connecticut as a team.

The Black Stars were reported to have left Houston, Texas for Connecticut in groups, a situation that left the coach with no option than to cancel the training.

“We were supposed to have trained when we arrived on Thursday but because we did not arrive as a whole, we couldn’t. Some of the players left in the morning while others left in the afternoon. Some even arrived the next day,” Kwasi Appiah lamented.

“The worse of it all, it rained for the entire day on Friday making it impossible for us to train. So for the two days before the game, we couldn’t train,” he added.

Appiah then expressed delight in the promise the team showed despite losing 2-1 to the USA.

“Apart from Gyan and Johgn Boye, almost all the other players are new to the team now. So I did not expect too much from them and the reaction was good,” he noted.

The Black Stars are expected to arrive in Ghana from Tuesday to Thursday as the travelling arrangement keeps them in batches.
