Ghana coach Kwesi Appiah has added to the praise heaped on striker Asamoah Gyan after his brace helped the country secure a 2-2 draw against Turkey in an international friendly.

The Al Ain attacker scored twice to cancel out the two first half goals scored by the Turks during Wednesday’s friendly in Istanbul.

The Ghanaian trainer has praised Gyan for his work ethics and says he is in the best form of his international career to propel the team to success.

“My captain is a great player and he is always committed on the field of play,” Appiah said

“That is what every player should do; once you wear the national colours you make sure that you kill yourself for your country and that is what he does every time he plays for Ghana.”

Gyan will be expected to spearhead the country’s attack during the crucial 2014 World Cup group decider against Zambia on September 6.
