Kwesi Appiah: Interviews for shortlisted coaches will begin this week

President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) Kwesi Nyantakyi has disclosed that they will start interviewing shortlisted coaches for the vacant Black Stars job this week.

Earlier this month, the Ghana FA mandated a six-member committee to search for a worthy replacement for Israeli coach Avram Grant, who departed from the team just days after the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations in Gabon.

Nevertheless, reports in the local media indicate five coaches have been shortlisted for the vacant role, with Kwesi Appiah being the only local coach in the list.

Media reports suggest that the other coaches on the shortlist are former Brazil defender Roberto Carlos, Harry Redknapp, Gary Neville and Cameroon coach Hugo Broos.

“The interview for the Black Stars coach’s position will begin this week,” Nyantakyi said in an interview with Inside African Football.
