Local Black Stars coach Maxwell Konadu has confirmed that senior national team boss Kwesi Appiah paid an undisclosed amount to the team for beating Ethiopia in their final Group C match at the CHAN.

Konadu also added that Appiah has been providing technical assistance to him at the tournament.

Ghana will play DR Congo on Sunday night for a place in the last four of the competition.

Konadu's side topped Group C after  beating Congo 1-0, drew 1-1 with Libya and a hard fought  1-0 win over dreaded Ethiopia.

"(Kwasi) Appiah has given me all the support here. Tactically and technically he’s been supporting me attraining and in camp where we share ideas," Konadu said.

"He promised the team a handsome winning bonus and we won. He immediately called me that he had sent for the money to be brought to the players."
