Ghana Football Association President Kwesi Nyantakyi has rubbished claims some players are planning to boycott national team duty due to a reported slash in their bonus package.

Reports are that the Ministry of Youth and Sports has resolved to pay a flat fee of $5000 as bonuses to the senior national team, the Black Stars.

Sources close to the Ministry revealed the new pay structure which the ministry intends to implement from the next competitive fixture of the national team in November.

But Nyantakyi after being re-elected as President of the Ghana Football Association says he is unaware of any possible boycott from players of the Black Stars.

“I am unaware of any boycott from the Black Stars player and do not know that if they called you to tell you or they made a public statement,” Nyantakyi said

“The Black Stars players are patriotic and they do not play for money, they play for their country.

“A boycott will not happen today, it will not happen tomorrow.”

Nyantakyi has secured a mandate to lead the Ghana Football Association for the next four years.
