LA Galaxy, Los Angeles FC in contact with Bayer Leverkusen striker Chicharito

Published on: 27 February 2017

Bayer Leverkusen striker Javier Hernandez is being linked with a move to MLS.

ESPN says Chicharito is wanted in California, where both LA Galaxy and expansion franchise Los Angeles FC have made contact.

The former Manchester United and Real Madrid striker is tied to Bayer until 2018 - which is when Los Angeles FC will enter the MLS.

Both the Galaxy and Los Angeles FC are willing to offer Chicharito €8.5 million-a-year to move to LA, where he is already among the most popular athletes for local sports fans.

The big obstacle, however, could be Bayer, which would be prepared to sell the striker this summer in order to generate a fee, rather than allow the Mexican, 28, to run down his contract.
