Ghana midfielder Mubarak Wakaso is delighted to return to Spain and play in a league which "proves every day that it's the best in the world".

The 25-year-old was snapped up by the newly-promoted Spanish side on a season-long loan after his proposed deal to Saudi side Al Ittihad fell through.

And the Ghana international has expressed his delight at returning to Spain and feels the strength of the top-flight cannot be contested.

“Since my departure from Spain, I have always missed La Liga” he told the Spanish media on Thursday

“Personally, this is the best championship in the world and I look forward to do my best for the team following the fans faith they have showed in me.”

There is much debate over which of Europe's top divisions can lay claim to being the best, with the Premier League, La Liga and the Bundesliga all seen as the elite leagues on the continent.
