Lazio boss bemoans lack of conviction in Udinese draw

Lazio coach Stefano Pioli has bemoaned his sides lack of conviction after a goal-less draw with Udinese.

Both sides were reduced to ten men but the Biancocelesti spent the majority of the game with 11 men after Danilo was sent off for the hosts

“We are not happy with the draw, we had a good start to the game but we were too slow in the second half,” Pioli told Premium Sport.

“We had to take advantage of the numerical superiority, it was a tough match and in the end we were not good enough.”

Alessandro Matri was sent off for the visitors, but had put the ball in the back of the net twice though both were ruled offside.

“We lacked only the conviction in the final third, we continued to create chances but can’t exploit the openings,” Pioli continued.

“It was a shame we couldn’t score at least once, however it was still a good performance.”

Lazio have lost more ground to their city rivals Roma and could have rejoined the pack ahead of Sassuolo and Empoli.
