Lazio forward asks to leave

After recent tensions between Keita Balde Diao and employers Lazio, the striker has handed in a transfer request.

The 21-year-old did not turn up to pre-season training with the Biancocelesti and now looks set to leave the club altogether.

As reported by Sky Sport Italia, the Senegal international has asked to leave the side for a fresh beginning elsewhere, with reports suggest Spanish giants Real Madrid are interested in his services.

A move to La Liga is a possibility as, despite Keita’s Senegalese commitments, the player was born in Spain in 1995 and was a member of Barcelona’s youth academy for seven years.

He then moved to Italy and joined Lazio, before making his professional debut for the side in 2013.

Keita has since won the Coppa Italia and has appeared 103 times in all competitions, scoring 15 goals and assisting a further 21.
