LEICESTER CITY, Simpson: \"We really believe we can win Champions League\"

Published on: 20 October 2016

Almost qualified for Champions League eighth finals, despite not much of a good initial Premier League course, Leicester City are planning to give football another shocking achievement, after having won last English championship. Foxes right-back, aside from the game ritual analysis in King Power Stadium 1-0, according to what reported by Daily Star, reported:

“Listen, this side can go like last season’s side went. We’ve signed a load of new players – we can go where we want. This side can go like last season’s side went. We want to win every single game we play. It’s been a great start to our Champions League campaign. It’s special. I never thought when I first signed here that I’d be doing that. My hairs stood up when I was lining up with the lads. You hear that music playing - it’s brilliant.

Now we need to transfer this to our league games. It’s been great for us - played three, won three and not conceded. It was really important, especially after the weekend defeat at Chelsea. After last season when you just get used to winning games and then take a couple of heavy defeats, it hurts. You go home after the game and that’s all you think about. That’s why beating Copenhagen was so important. We are going to away grounds and we are the champions. People want to beat us more and more. We need to deal with that and give that extra few per cent.

Last season was amazing, but we kind of need to forget that now. I know we’ve got the gold badge on our arm but we need to give a good account of ourselves this season and finish as high as we can and also have a good run in the Champions League”.
