Leicester utility player Jeffrey Schlupp reckons his old manager Nigel Pearson can get Sunderland out of trouble.

Pearson is one of the bookies favourites to succeed Dick Advocaat at the Stadium of Light.

He inspired Leicester to escape Premier League relegation last season but lost his job in the summer.

Schlupp says his former boss could also rescue the Black Cats.

“If he did get the job, he is guaranteed to get the boys working hard. He is all about team spirit. He is all about being one-a family. So I think when teams are struggling that is the main thing to get right,” the Ghana international said.
