Leicester City defender Jeff Schlupp is still in the hunt for a place in Ghana's squad for the 2014 World Cup after tests revealed that the knee injury he suffered is not as serious as initially feared.
Despite being given the hope for a quick return the left-back won't be available for their Championship clash with Bolton on Tuesday when they can seal the title.
Schlupp had to be helped off the field during Cityââ¬â¢s 1-0 victory over QPR on Saturday after injuring his knee.
The left-back had a scan, which came back better than first feared, but City boss Nigel Pearson confirmed he had no intention of risking him tomorrow.
ââ¬ÅIt doesnââ¬â¢t appear to be as bad as we thought. He still went to have a scan. Hopefully he wonââ¬â¢t be (out for) too long,â⬠said Pearson at Mondayââ¬â¢s press conference.
ââ¬ÅIââ¬â¢m not even going to contemplate him being involved. But heââ¬â¢s in good spirits. Paul Konchesky is fit so thatââ¬â¢s good from that perspective.ââ¬
Schlupp could gatecrash Ghana's World Cup as he is one of the players being monitored by coach Kwesi Appiah
