Leicester City's Ghana defender Schlupp admits Premier League will be tough
Schlupp is among tow Ghanaians to play in the English Premier league this season

Ghana defender Jeffrey Schlupp is confident his newly-promoted English Premier League side Leicester City will be able to punch above their weight in the competition which starts on Saturday.

But the left-back admits they will face a tough task in their opening match in the world's most popular football league.

Schlupp, who failed to make Ghana's squad for the World Cup, will be making his debut in the top-flight after helping the Foxes to secure promotion to the Premier League.

Leicester will open their campaign against Everton before taking on Chelsea and Arsenal in their subsequent matches which means they face a baptism of fire.

The Ghana international admits their opening matches in the Premier League will test their resolve.

“All the teams in the Premier League are quality, but to have three of the top four in the first six games won’t be easy, but none of the games in the Premier League will be easy," Schlupp said.

“It will be a good way to stamp our authority and show everyone else in the league what we can do by getting some points on the board hopefully.”

Schlupp is among the two Ghanaian players to play in the English top-flight this season.
