Liberia have stepped their preparation for their crucial U23 Championship qualifier against Ghana next week after setting up camp in Monrovia since last week.

The 2015 CAF U-23 Championship will be the second edition of the CAF U-23 Championship, a football tournament for players under 23 years organized by the Confederation of African Football (CAF).

It is initially scheduled to take place in the Democratic Republic of the Congo between 5–19 December 2015 .

However, the CAF has requested Senegal to host the tournament instead.

A total of eight teams will play in the tournament.

Liberia U-23 will play Ghana in the first leg in the week of 24–26 April 2015 .

The tournament acts as qualification to the 2016 Summer Olympics men’s football tournament for the CAF, with the top three teams qualifying with the Second leg 8–10 May 2015 .

U-23 coach Thomas Kojo and Janjay Jacobs, were today seen set-up the U-23 team to enable them attack their Ghanaian counterpart as Ghana on paper might be rated higher than Liberia’s U-23 team .

But with some members of the Liberia U-23 team coming from top local clubs like BYC Football and FC Fassell and other top performing club locally.

The U-23 squad will leave the country to coming in the coming days .

The team have intensify training at the ATS with a warm-up match been arranged between the U-23 and top formidable team LPRC Oilers on Tuesday morning.

According to Kojo, the preparation process is going well but finance is still a major challenge.

He however disclosed that three international players have been invited for the showdown.
