Liberty coach Lamptey aims to sign new striker in January

Coach George Lamptey says he will sign a new striker during the January transfer window as Liberty Professionals   continue the process of replacing Latif Salifu.

Although Lamptey has been experimenting with different players in the centre-forward role, he has realized that only having Kennedy Ashia as his only out-and-out hitman could be negative in the second half of the season.

The club has therefore set their eyes on signing a top-striker during the transfer window to propel them challenge on all fronts this season.

“I don’t have good strikers and therefore I will be looking to buy one in January,” Lamptey said

“If we really want to be among the top-four, then we cannot only rely on one striker.

“What if he is suspended for a game or injured at some point?

Ashia is Liberty's leading marksman with six goals from 8 matches.
