Liberty-Kotoko game postponed to next Sunday

Posted On Saturday, 5th January 2013

The Premier League game between Liberty Professionals and Asante Kotoko have been postponed.

The rescheduling of the Week 15 game is as a result of ongoing works and security arrangements for the big swearing in of President John Mahama on Monday.

The game will now be played on Sunday, January 13 at the Accra Sports Stadium.

The decision appears not to have gone down well with Asante Kotoko who have arrived in the capital this afternoon for the match.

Players and officials of the side are currently lodging at the Lizzy Sports Complex in East Legon.

It is at this stage unclear whether the Premier League Board, Liberty Professionals or Asante Kotoko will be bearing the extra cost to be incurred due to the game’s postponement.

Eeeeei Ghana, indeed this country is full of jokers so because of their politics we can do anything else. God save us.

Coach to see our game u disapoint again with ur one_tot league again. Why why and u did same when everton was comin to ksi. We can never develop with dis attitude.

  10. EMMA says:

Because of this idiot humaniser MAHAMA THE NO;17 OF POLYGAMY…..

  11. GH FUO, THINK BIG!!! says:

JAN 7TH IS A SUNDAY. SO WHY PREVENT THE GAME FROM BEING PLAYED. IS 1 TOUCH THIEFMAN MAHAMA’S INAUGULATION AT THE OHENE DJAN STADIUM AS WELL? THE PLB SHOULD PAY FOR THIS MISTAKE. KOTOKO, IUF U HAVE ANY FINES THAT NEED TO BE PAID TO PLB OR GFA, TAKE THIS BALANCE AM. IM TELLIN U. TOO MANY JIMI JIMI PPL IN GH. MONKEYS CAN DO BETTER, TRUST ME.

  12. Shadrach says:

Kotoko mush be paid for their cost inquired if the PLB wants the match to come off as they wish.

  13. writer ur moda says:

When the Queen or Obama is coming to Ghana, you people block roads and cause inconvenience DAYS to the day they land.

Your President is going to be sworn-in on Monday and, therefore, a football match to be played on Sunday near the site of the event has been postponed.

How hard is that to understand? The most annoying question: will the match have been cancelled if it were in Europe?

Are we facing the same security challenges as Europeans do?

  14. Shadrach says:

Kotoko must be paid for their cost inquired if the PLB wants the match to come off as they wish.

  15. Yabi says:

Plb sit up why this hour our football is for a joke ok

  16. J.T says:

hmmm my brothers u see how untrusted the fa is?

  17. Tanko says:

How could you postpone a game for the swearing in of a President the next day? Is the swearing in a surprise or it has been known for 4 years? U did the same when Hearts played Kotoko in Kumasi. If you postpone one game, then postpone all the other hgames as well. The impact on Liberty and Kotoko is not only monetary. Think about it…. And you want us to take football seriuos in Ghana

  18. Serious? says:

Ghana Paa!!! I won’t be surprised if they also declare January 7th as public holiday… Jokers. What kind os security are we talking about as if the football game is a war… Pay triple the costs to both teams

  19. sarkodie says:

AGAIN? ,THERE IS NO PROBLEM OF THE PRESIDENT GOING TO BE SWORN-IN. BUT THE QUESTION IS, WERE THEY INFORMED BY PLB ?
