Liberty Professionals head coach Michael Osei has tipped Egypt star Mohammed Salah to win the aiteo 2017 CAF African Footballer of the Year award.

The Liverpool winger and top scorer of the English Premier League will have to battle it out with team mate Sadio Mane and Dortmund's Pierre Emirick Aubameyang to claimed his dream maiden gong in 2015.

And Michael Osei, a former Kotoko and Black Stars midfielder who was also the coach of Kotoko recently believes the Egyptian deserves the gong.

"The three nominees are all good and a correct selection, but I think Salah stands tall among them", Michael Osei told the media after the event in unveiling of the three nominees in Accra.

Salah guided Egypt to pick a World Cup slot ahead of Ghana for the first time since 1990, scoring 5 out of the total 7 goals Egypt scored and assisted the remaining 2.

Salah who is the current top scorer in the English Premier League with 14 goals joined the Anfield side from AS Roma where he had scored 15 goals with 13 assists.

He also led the Pharaohs of Egypt to finish as runners up in the 2017 AFCON held in Gabon after the North African had missed out of the completion for three consecutive times.
