Liverpool had enough chances to beat Everton twice - Andrew Robertson

The FC crew get into a heated debate while discussing the penalty conceded by Liverpool's Dejan Lovren in the Merseyside derby. Janusz Michallik and Mark Donaldson discuss how Liverpool should've put the Merseyside derby out of sight before Everton's dubious penalty award. Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp clarifies his decision to omit Philippe Coutinho and Roberto Firmino from his XI against Everton.

Andrew Robertson says Liverpool had enough opportunities in front of goal to win two matches during their frustrating 1-1 draw with Everton on Sunday.

Liverpool had 79 percent of possession at Anfield, but could only manage three shots on target against Sam Allardyce's defensive side.

Mohamed Salah gave Liverpool the lead late in the first half before Wayne Rooney netted a controversial penalty in the 77th minute to leave Everton and their travelling supporters delighted with the point earned.

"I think you can see how the two teams reacted to the draw. We were heads in hands and their fans were going wild, so I think that shows what the performance was like," Robertson told Liverpool's official website.

"It wasn't a bad performance but we could have been clinical in front of goal and we probably should have been more than 1-0 up at half-time.

Liverpool ultimately endured a frustrating afternoon against Everton.

"If we were, I don't think they're coming back from it the way we performed second half. But, like I said, we need to be more clinical and on another day it could have been a comfortable afternoon.

"They never had any chances, other than the penalty, and we've had a few good chances. It's just one of the games where it wasn't meant to be I suppose.

"We've had enough chances to probably win two games but other games the last few weeks we've been so clinical and took every chance we've had and it just wasn't meant to be."

Meanwhile, Joe Gomez says the quick turnaround from the Merseyside derby gives Liverpool the chance to put their frustrations to bed, with the Reds welcoming Alan Pardew's West Brom to Anfield on Wednesday.

"That's one of the positives," Gomez said. "Obviously it's tough, it's a gruelling schedule, but it gives you a chance to try and fix it straight away."
