English giants Liverpool are preparing a summer bid for Bayern Munich defender Jerome Boateng, according to reports in the English press.
The Reds look certain to land a Uefa Champions League spot for next season and want to fortify their ranks with the signing for the towering German center-back.
Boateng has appeared 28 times in all competitions for Bayern this term but Pep Guardiola has sent scouts to monitor around an alternative defender.
And, Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers is spying on the progress of things and will make a bid for Boateng as he has experience in the English top-flight.
Boateng played for Etihad giants Manchester City three seasons ago and Rodgers feels he has got the requisite gravitas to help his side in both domestic and continental competitions.
The defender’s bid part of a string of catchy signings lined by the Anfield side as they seek to reclaim their claim in European football.
Ghana star Andre Ayew has also been linked with a summer move to the club the Merseysiders preparing an improved bid for the winger. Liverpool had a 10-million-pound offer turned down by Marseille in January but will make another attempt for Ayew.
