Lizzy Sports complex to host first corporate league in Ghana

A mini corporate football league is set to kick off in Accra at the Lizzy Sports Complex.

The league consisting of twelve teams drawn from various corporate institutions in Ghana is being sponsored by electronic manufacturing giants Samsung.

The league which kicks off on May 4 and is aimed at fostering strong relations between the participating institutions will span an 11-week period with six matches played every weekend.

Chief Marketing Officer of MD Inverstments (Managers of the Lizzy Sports Complex) Jamil Marabi who formulated the idea is thrilled with the upcoming competition, another occasion to display the unique facilities offered by the complex.

“We are very much excited with the upcoming event and are looking to host all the teams here at the Lizzy Sports Complex,” the former Sekondi XI Wise Chairman said.

“The facilities have been in tip-top shape ready for the 11-week tournament and I am sure the participants will enjoy their time here.”

The competition which is based on all play all concepts where all participants will get the chance to play each other twice only employs the use of players below age 25.

The matches will be played in two halves of 40 minutes each and there will also be a two week break at the end of the first round to allow for registration of new players.
