Mubarak Wakaso has set himself a target of just FOUR games to convince Celtic to activate the option to buy clause they agreed when they took him on loan from Rubin Kazan.

The Ghanaian winger admits he would have jumped at the chance to make the move permanent right from the start.

But now he has finally arrived after having to wait for a work permit, he wants to showing he is worth the reported £4m his Russian club want for the 24-year-old.

Wakaso has no wish to return to Kazan, where he failed to settle in the year since he moved there from Espanyol.

He already feels right at home in Glasgow. And, when asked if he would have preferred the move to be a straight transfer from the outset, he replied emphatically: "Yes, because I am not here just to have fun or to make use of the city or club.

"I am here to work hard and to be part of Celtic for many years.

"I hope to persuade Celtic quickly that we can make this permanent.

"I am willing to use maybe three or four matches to convince them.

"Then I hope they will agree to make the transfer permanent."

Wakaso insists he is fit and ready to go. He hopes Ronny Deila, who he met only briefly when he signed, will give him his debut in Sunday's SPFL game at Dens Park against Dundee.

The little buzz bomb - who played in this summer's World Cup finals - revealed he had other offers, but believes Celtic is a good fit for him.

Having played for Elche, Villarreal and Espanyol in Spain before his move to Rubin Kazan - where his wages increased six-fold - Wakaso is ready to put down roots.

He revealed international team-mate, Michael Essien, was among those who advised him to jump at the chance to join the Hoops and said: "Everything has a fresh start, and, when you begin to play, you will see how it is.

"There are difficult situations, and easy situations, so I know what I face.

"I know what will come, and I'm ready for it."
