Ghana's 2014 CHAN team before an international friendly.

Ghana have been seeded for Wednesday's 2014 African Nations Championship (CHAN) finals draw in Cairo.

The local Black Stars will head Group C and will draw an opponent from Pot 2 which has Gabon, Mali, Libya and Uganda.

Either Burkina Faso, Burundi, Ethiopia and Nigeria can be drawn from Pot 3.

Ghana's last Group opponent will be drawn from Pot 4 where Congo, Mauritania, Morocco and  Mozambique are based.

Hosts South Africa are in Group A, 2009 winners DR Congo in Group B and Zimbabwe will head Group D.

The Confederation of African Football ranked the 15 qualifiers-with the exception of hosts South Africa, ranked countries based on their performances during the first two editions in 2009 and 2011.

Points were awarded for each of the last two African Nations Championship final tournaments.

After the arithmetic, the local Black Stars came in second with 8 points; six behind the highest ranked country DR Congo who won the 2009 finals.

Ghana were losing finalists in the inaugural tournament hosted by Ivory Coast in 2009.

Maxwell Konadu's team qualified to finals without kicking a ball following Benin's withdrawal from the eliminators.

The tournament will be played from 11 January to 01 February by four host cities; Polowane, Cape Town, Bloemfontein and Kimberly.

CHAN finals draw seedings:

Pot 1: South Africa (Group A), DR Congo (Group B), Ghana (Group C) & Zimbabwe (Group D).

Pot 2: Gabon, Mali, Libya & Uganda
