There is a dominance of African coaches over Europeans in CAF Confederation Cup finals after Pamphile Mihayo led DR Congo side TP Mazembe to win the trophy on Saturday.
Out of 14 finals, ten have been won by clubs with local coaches.
Veteran Tunisian Faouzi Benzarti achieved glory twice with Etoile Sahel, the 2006 and 2015 winners.
He is among three Confederation Cup-winning coaches who also boast victories in the more prestigious CAF Champions League, achieving that feat with Esperance.
The others who completed the double were Ghanaian Cecil Jones Attuquayefio, who died in 2015, and Moroccan Hussein Amotta.
Attuquayefio won both competitions with Accra outfit Hearts of Oak while Amotta lifted the Confederation Cup with FUS Rabat and the Champions League this year with Wydad Casablanca.
