Local fans in Maceio flocked the Estadio Rei Pele to watch Ghana’s first open training session as they prepare for Monday’s Group G opener against USA.

Multi billionaire State Governor Teotonio Lela ordered the distribution of 10,000 free tickets for the local to watch their adopted nation.

There were placards for goalkeeper Fatau Dauda and Kevin-Prince Boateng as evidence of the team’s global appeal.

The passionate fans had the rare opportunity of taking photos with their stars.

After training- which had Abdul Majeed Waris and Boateng return after sitting out Thursday’s session- a group of African students in posed for the cameras after making a donation to the team.
